From April 17 to May 10, 2024, I served as the team leader and researcher in a school debate organized by the Emirates Schools Establishment, arguing that technology makes us less intellectual. My role involved leading the team in detailed research, developing arguments that supported our position, and preparing for counterarguments.
The main challenge was presenting a convincing case while addressing the multifaceted nature of the topic. I had to effectively balance evidence and counterpoints within a limited timeframe. This experience improved my critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills, as I coordinated the team’s efforts and guided our preparation and delivery.
