Safety Helmet With IoT Project

The project aims to develop a sensor system integrated into a helmet to ensure the safety of workers at high altitudes. This system monitors vital parameters like heart rate, SPO2 levels, body temperature, altitude, and location (latitude and longitude). Additionally, it features a fall detection mechanism using a vibration sensor. The data collected will be displayed on an OLED screen and transmitted to an IoT app for further analysis and cloud storage.

About the project

People involved:

1 student and 1 teacher

Duration:

2 months

The problem we are solving:

Addresses real-time monitoring of vital signs and fall detection to enhance worker safety in industrial settings.

Our objectives:

1. Develop a wearable device to monitor vital signs and detect falls in real-time.
2. Ensure the device provides timely alerts for emergency responses.
3. Improve worker safety and health in industrial environments through continuous monitoring.

The process

  • Research and Design: Conducted thorough research on wearable technology and health monitoring systems. Designed a prototype focusing on comfort, accuracy, and durability.

  • Development and Testing: Developed the device using sensors for vital signs and fall detection. Tested the prototype in various scenarios to ensure reliability and accuracy.

  • Integration: Integrated the device with an alert system that sends real-time notifications to emergency contacts or health services.

The result

The result was a fully functional wearable device that accurately monitored vital signs and detected falls, successfully sending real-time alerts to emergency contacts, demonstrating its potential to enhance elderly care and safety.
