Description:
During the 2021 World Robotics Olympiad, I participated as a team member and programmer, collaborating with two other girls to develop a sustainable smart city prototype that utilized renewable resources like wind and water. Over 13 weeks during my 9th-grade school break, we dedicated 30 hours per week to bring this project to life. Our prototype featured a system where water was filtered as it flowed down a mountain, powered by a wind turbine, and then distributed to houses running on solar panels. I played a significant role by building parts of the prototype, including the mountain and the electrolysis experiment that separated oxygen and hydrogen. I also programmed a robot to walk on a black line, stop at a red sign to pick up waste from houses, and stop at a green sign to drop off the waste at a recycling facility that converted it into compost for homeowners. Additionally, I programmed the parking robot and contributed to writing the final report. Despite challenges in time management and ensuring all components worked seamlessly, we learned the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and innovation. Our hard work earned us 3rd place in the entire UAE, highlighting our dedication and creativity.
