Description:
In the 2023 Second Annual College Of Engineering Hackathon (2023), organized by Abu Dhabi University, I led a team in a competition focused on the “Good Health” Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). We were given 2 hours to research and create an online poster, during which we developed a creative concept for a safety helmet designed to protect workers in hazardous environments. As the team leader, I was responsible for assigning roles and ensuring the team worked efficiently. Our efforts were recognized as we placed 10th out of 500 teams.
One of the main challenges we faced was the limited time frame, which required us to quickly gather information, brainstorm innovative ideas, and design a compelling presentation. Balancing creativity with practicality in such a short period was demanding, but it pushed us to think on our feet and work cohesively as a team. Managing the workload under pressure while ensuring that each team member contributed effectively was another challenge, but it ultimately strengthened our teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
